Land Acknowledgement Service

We come together on this Sunday to celebrate the rich cultures of the peoples indigenous to Turtle Island.  To celebrate the resilience of Native Americans  who still face many threats including the loss of tribal land and water rights and an epidemic of missing and murdered indigenous women and girls.  We come together to hear their music and voices, see the land, smell the sage and acknowledge that our meeting house sits upon the unceded land of the Pawtucket and Massachusett peoples.

We seek to know the history of this place and its indigenous inhabitants and to appreciate indigenous knowledge. Together we open up all our senses to learn about the past and the present and work towards justice.

This service will be held outside, weather permitting. Masks are recommended. If joining by Zoom, please use the regular First Parish Zoom account: https://zoom.us/j/4438056805
