Justice, Forgiveness, & Hospitality: What’s Creativity Got to Do wth it?

On Sunday, May 27, we welcome guest Worship Leader and Preacher, the Rev. Benjamin Perkins.

Creativity is one of those words that conjures up artistic endeavors—painting, poetry, writing, sculpture and a whole host of other things. Hopefully, it’s uncontroversial to say that our species is better off because of our artistic sensibilities and that the humanities themselves humanize us and deepen our emotional intelligence. Rev. Perkins will broaden the notion of creativity to include works of justice, forgiveness and hospitality, as they are the poetry of religion and spirituality.

Rev Perkins is an avid social-justice practitioner, intellectual, and creative thinker and community minister at Hope Central Church in JP. He holds a Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School and serves as VP of Multicultural Initiatives/Health Equity for the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association
