“An Indigenous People’s History of the US for Young People”
First session: Monday, July 20, 9am
Readers and thinkers of all ages are invited to join First Parish’s summer book group, to be facilitated by Katherine Jenkins with support from Lucas Gonzalez Milliken and Emily Lichtenstein. The group will read An Indigenous People’s History of the US for Young People, by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz. This book reveals the roles that colonialism and policies of American Indian genocide played in forming our national identity, and will encourage you to think critically about your own place in history.
Copies will be available for pick up at the church on Sunday mornings beginning Sunday, July 26, or at other times to be arranged by contacting Kit Binns (admin@firstparishdorchester.org) or Lucas (dre@firstparishdorchester.org). For the Zoom link, please contact either Kit or Lucas.
