First Parish Church in Dorchester is a caring community and Unitarian Universalist Congregation. We seek to make a place for all ages to experience and celebrate community, to teach and learn from each other through lay-led services, and to actively work for a more just and equitable future. Children and Families

Children and Families

First Parish Dorchester offers a volunteer-led Faith Formation Program for children and youth. Our Sunday School connects with Unitarian Universalist themes and church services, creating a cohesive spiritual experience. We use Soul Matters from September through June for inspiration. Childcare is available for ages 0-4, while children in grades K-5 join Sunday School after the Time For All Ages.

We are a lay-led congregation, meaning services and spiritual leadership are provided by community members rather than a designated minister. This reflects our commitment to shared ministry, where all members participate in roles such as worship leading, pastoral care, social justice work, and other community activities.
