Democracy and our Spiritual Fortitude

As we enter this new phase of US authoritarianism, we are each called to find a deeper place in the movement for true democracy. Inspired by Indigenous scholar and musician Dr. Lyla June, Claire Karl will speak to the larger call to side with love for a version of our nation that liberates everyone and everything.

Bio: CLAIRE KARL B.W. MÜLLER (THEY)

Claire Karl is a force of nature. They are a 5th generation Germanic settler to Eastern Massachusetts and identify as a white, middle-class, non-binary, small-fat, neuro-spicy organizer. Their values are curiosity, compassion, truth and people power. They feel called to work with other white middle class folks for justice and joined the team at UU Mass Action in 2020.

They have organized for climate and environmental justice since 2007, and is the co-coordinator of the statewide climate justice coalition Mass Power Forward, which they co-founded in 2015. Claire Karl is UU Mass Action staff lead for Climate work, Indigenous Solidarity, TransJustice and Democracy.
